You can install the floating license on your computer or a server connected to your local network. (We do not support virtual environments).
- Insert the dongle in the computer/server.
- Make sure you are logged in as an administrator before installing.
- On the server you run the installation FloatingLicenseSetupR2.exe.
- Start FloatingLicense.exe as an administrator.
This is what the floating license manager looks like.
To load the password file, make sure you see the four or five digit dongle ID in the Locks area.
- Press "Load passwords".
- Select the .PWD file for your license.
After loading the .PWD file the dialog will look similar to this.
This is what a successful loading of pwd file looks like.
- Locate the .LIC file which can be found in the License File Location above.
- Open the Passwords settings in IGEMS CAD/CAM which can be found here: IGEMS/Preferences/Password
- Load the .LIC file in the Password settings in IGEMS CAD/CAM.
- Done!
Error codes
On the client you can get the following error messages.
Floating license: Path does not exist FILENAME
The client cannot find the path to the .LIC file
Floating license: .LIC file empty
This means that the .LIC file exists but it is empty. No passwords have been loaded on the server.
Floating license: Version error: PWD:18.1 IGEMS:19.2
This means the passwords loaded on the server are for an older version of IGEMS.
Floating license: Password corrupt
This means that the .LIC file is not formatted correctly. The reason might be that the file is corrupt or from the wrong Floating License version.
Floating license: Unknown error Locks #X .lock files found #Y
If X=0 or X=1 this means that the FloatingLicense cannot find any dongles on the server.
If X>1 this means that dongles are found and the reason might be that the dongle is date locked. Please check the passwords and the dates on the server and client.
Rental Floating license: Make sure floating license is running on server
When using floating license on a rental system the SERVER and CLIENT need to have the same DATES. Please check the server and client computer dates and make sure they match and that the FloatingLicenseRental is running on the server.
Rental Floating license: Expired
The rental has expired and need to be renewed.
Rental Floating license: lock last used date > computer date. Check server time!
The date on the client computer has been tampered with. Please go to the floating license program and reload the passwords. And make sure the client computer date is correct and that it matches the server computer date.
Maximum number of licenses reached
No more licenses available. Check if other clients are running IGEMS and close them to free up a license.
