When you start the command, following dialog is shown.
This command is for easier handling of skeleton sheets. The idea is that the parts can remain on the cutting table during the cutoff. If the sheet has not been moved, then the jet cannot damage the parts.
We now plan to divide the sheet as the white line on the sheet below.
Quality
It's waist of time to use a high-quality cut for making separation of the sheet. I suggest you should use X-rough or Rough. You can read more about cutting quality here.
Piercing
Select on of the piercing types. On very thick material I suggest you should use "Circular" on thin material "Linear". You can read more about piercing here
Shortest cut
Its no meaning to make a cut if the distance between the parts is very short.
Distance
This setting controls how long from the parts the cutoff should start and end.
Start inside sheet
If this checkbox is activated, then all cuts inside the sheet will be cut first. If not then the cutting will start at the edge of the sheet.
Do the toolpath
Press OK and select the line
It is now possible to lock the sheet and divide the sheet in two parts.
Different methods
There are three different methods to use the "Cutoff":
Cutoff first
Do the cutoff first and then cut the parts on the sheet. Be sure the distance value is large enough to not destroy the parts. In this case run the cutoff first in the "Order" command (see page 286).
Cut part first
Cut all parts first and then the cutoff. If the parts are not unloaded from the machine be sure the distance value is large enough. In this case run the cutoff at the end in the "Order" command (see page 286).
Cut part first, unload and then cut
To first cut and then unload all parts set the distance value to zero. In this case there will be no bridges.
