This command creates a disconnected toolpath and connects parts with a bridge. This kind of toolpath is ideal when cutting small parts that can fall down in the tank.
The command shows the following dialog box:
Lead
You can read more about the different piercing types and leads on "Contour"
Compensation
You can read more about tool radius compensation (kerf) "Contour".
Bridge width
This value is the width of the bridge which may look wider on the screen since the toolpath shows the center of the tool. The value should be that wide that the parts are fixed together , but also that small that it is easy to separate the parts after cutting.
Geometry optimization
This guarantees the part is able to be cut with a specified tool diameter.
Cut single contours
This setting is used on the Multi option. If it's activated than the command also will add toolpath on single geometries like holes.
Single
Click on leadin/leadout position (1) and then at position where you want the bridge between the parts.
Multi
With the Multi option you can select many parts at the same time. The bridge command will join all parts that you select together in one group. You can do several bridges groups the command will not cut the same geometry twice.
Are there any negative things by using Bridges?
If you take many parts at the same time, it can be a risk that the parts move during the cutting.
