This command can be used for diverse types of cutting processes on point or circular objects. Following dialog is shown:
Attribute
The attribute functionality is the same as for many commands like Quick, Marking, Holes, Toolpath in 3D-5X.
Connect to part
There is more information about this in the "Contour" command.
Drilling
With this option you can make drilling as a separate process. You can drill the hole without doing any cutting.
Marking
Use this option if you just want to make a mark on top of the surface. The reason may be a position indication for something to be welded or drilled.
Circular piercing
To use a circular piercing is a fast way of cut through the material. This option will make a circular piercing with the diameter entered in the material database.
Cutting
This option makes a circular hole. The holes are machined in a spiral from inside out to get a precision hole. If the hole is not connected to the part then it is possible to enter a quality. This feature is not yet released.
Stationary piercing
This will make a stationary piercing in the center of the circle or at the point. Stationary piercing should be used only on thin material.
Subroutine
This option require special development of the postprocessor. The idea is that the CNC machine has one or several subroutines stored in the memory. This hole option call for the subroutine at actual position.
In this case the attribute will control the name of the subroutine.
The option will ask for text height
A text "SUB" will be located in the center of the hole.
How to attach the hole to the part
Start the command and select the drilling option
When you press OK you will be prompted to select a filter object.
Select the large hole as filter object.
Then select all holes by a window.
The command will attach the hole to all circles with identical diameter as the filter object.
If you don’t use any filter object then all circles will be attached.
