The Drawing Units command controls the measurement system and precision displayed in IGEMS while maintaining high-precision internal calculations.
🔹 How to Use
- Open unit settings: Access through Preferences or Quick Options
- Select length units: Choose between Millimeters or Inches
- Set decimal precision: Configure how many decimal places to display for lengths
- Configure angle units: Choose between Degrees or Radians for angular measurements
- Set angle precision: Specify decimal places for angle display
🧠Tips
- Internal precision: IGEMS stores all values at high precision (0.0000) regardless of display
- Display only: Unit settings only affect what you see on screen, not calculation accuracy
- File persistence: Drawing units are saved with each drawing file
- Flexible switching: Change units without affecting the actual geometry
- Dimension output: Units affect dimensions and other measurement displays
