The Chamfer command creates angled cuts at corners by extending or trimming segments and adding a straight chamfer line. This is common in mechanical design.
🔹 How to Use
- Activate the command: Select Chamfer tool from the toolbar.
- Set first chamfer length: Enter the chamfer distance for the first segment.
- Set second chamfer length: Enter the chamfer distance for the second segment.
- Select segments: Choose the two segments to chamfer.
- Polyline chamfer: Hold Alt when selecting to chamfer all corners of a polyline.
🧠Tips
- Equal lengths: Most useful when both chamfer lengths are equal.
- Polyline efficiency: Alt+click chamfers all corners of a polyline at once.
- Mechanical standard: Common in mechanical drawings for breaking sharp edges.
- Length control: Independent control of chamfer length on each segment.
