The Trim command removes portions of objects that intersect with other objects. This is one of the most frequently used editing commands for cleaning up geometry.
🔹 How to Use
- Ensure intersections: Need at least 2 intersecting objects to trim.
- Activate the command: Select Trim tool or press T.
- Select cutting edges: Choose objects that will act as cutting boundaries.
- Select portions to remove: Click on the parts of objects you want to delete.
Use Fence option: Select multiple objects at once using the Fence selection method.
🔹 Advanced Options
Shift+Trim: Hold Shift while clicking to keep the selected portion and remove everything else.
- Calculate cutting edges: For heavy drawings (>500,000 objects), select a smaller area to speed up calculations.
