To make most use of IGEMS Slab tracer, you need a photo station. This guide briefly describes how it should be set up for success.
- Purchase or create a solid color background, ideally chroma green.
- Mount it at a slight angle so your material doesn't fall off.
- Place an ArUco marker in each corner of the background (attached at the bottom of this guide).
- Mount a camera perpendicular to the background.
The ArUco markers' size doesn't matter as long as they're all the same and accepted by the Slab tracer. We use 50*50mm (2") in our Test lab and it works great.
The area inside the markers, highlighted in pink on the image above, is the area which will be traced. Therefore a lip or something the material can rest on will be necessary on the border to the trace area.
To setup the ArUco markers properly you need to specify the distance between them in the Slab tracer command. Please follow the steps when Slab tracer command is active.
- Open the settings.
- Specify the distance between your ArUco markers on your physical photo station.
It's important that you measure these distances correctly because the trace will be calculated from these values. - Click OK to save the values.
